So, yesterday in the State of Origins 2013, the Maroons were against the NSW Blues. Sadly the Maroons didn't win * sad face * they were 6-14. For the first time in my 1 year and 4 months stay in Brisbane I went to a pub to watch the game and the atmosphere was never what I expected. To be honest I never quite understood the game but that night changed my whole perspective of it. Maybe it was how people dress up and rooted for their favourite team or maybe because even though you are drinking alone and watching the game people are so free to talk to you because of the game, (or because I was slightly light headed from the beer and also because I had a slight headache the whole day) but either way ! There was something about drinking beer and having a bunch of people having a good old yell at the TV when the NSW Blues scored or the excitement and big smiles and applause when the Maroons had the ball or scored. Surprisingly because of the experience I am starting to like footie xD
Meet this guy I shall not name names ;) but though he was quite upset with the game score, he had the most gentle touch I have ever felt. His eyes burning with passion towards the game but at the same time his patience for explaining the game to me without hesitation was amazing. As I was there beside him I was so afraid that he might yell at me for asking so much question while the game was in play. To my surprise every I got confused or sat there in confusion he gave me the warmest smile and explained everything to me, like what was the difference between AFL and NRL (how one was played in an oval field and the other was a rectangular) or how the score was counted and which player was best ( HE WAS NUMBER 1 OF THE MAROONS)
I fully enjoyed myself that night. ;)
Thank you ( you know who you are ) wouldn't had an awesome time without you.
